I really appreciate this place and don't understand the bad reviews. I was hours into a crappy shopping trip, and I was starting to get pissy at all of the screaming children and women in velour tracksuits with bedazzled sayings on the butt, and the guy at the stand near the food court trying to sell clip on hair or whatever who wouldnt leave me alone -- no, I will not answer a quick question. I needed to get my blood sugar back up pronto before I cut a bitch.
I didn't know what I wanted walking into the food court until the Sakkio guy handed me terriyaki chicken impaled onto a toothpick. I got in the line and requested terriyaki chicken with extra veggies and no rice. I was expecting attitude because Asian places usually look at me with contempt for not being into rice. But the guy just nodded and $8 later, i had my gallon of diet coke and was waiting in line, watching the guys grill the chicken while my mouth awkwardly watered. Maybe 2 minutes later I was clutching a styrofoam container filled with fresh veggies, mostly cabbage, carrots, and broccolli, in my hands and headed towards the least gross food courttable I could find, trying to avoid any screaming children and failing. About 5 minutes later I was looking at an almost empty styrofoam container and wondering how I just ate about a pound of chicken and all of those veggies, but it was so worth it. -

This place is HORRID. I have been here maybe once before at the Galleria mall, but the one in the Burlington Mall food court is much better. What was so unpleasant about this experience (and I will never be a patron of this business again) was the low-quality of the Chicken Teriyaki, small portion size, and the rude staff both at the register and those that cook the meat. The woman taking my order at the register didn't even greet customers with a smile but I didn't have any issues there. It was in the midst of waiting for my Chicken Teriyaki to come out that I noticed their flat "teppanyaki" griddle looked filthy, covered in dried up grease + leftover scraps of food. Instant regret of ordering at this place. But still, I had already paid.
The two guys at the griddle looked bored, one moving around with his spatula the already-cooked chicken that definitely was just sitting there for who knows how long. I notice guy #2 pulls out fresh raw seasoned chicken from below the grill and tosses it on the griddle so I expect that I'll get a freshly-made order. I look at my phone and the next thing I know, guy #1 has tossed a measly amount of chicken on top of the rice and tells me to pick it up. I tell him, "Oh, I'd like the freshly cooked chicken. I can wait", to which he gets seriously irritated and with a sour expression says, "this also fresh chicken" but I insist I'll wait. He starts muttering in Chinese clearly annoyed by my request to guy #2 the whole time the chicken cooks and gives my order to another guy waiting behind me. After about 10 minutes, he finishes cooking the meat and again tosses a small amount of chicken on the rice. At this point, I'm like whatever and just eat the food.
It's very oily, bland, and tastes unhealthy. -

The food is okay, price isn't too bad but the staff are rude and always look like they hate their lives. They are really impatient and behave as if having good customer service skills are optional. The lady at the cash was getting upset with me because she for some reason couldn't hear me well and I ended up getting my order wrong because I asked for double chicken. The larger Asian guy called me up for my order and I asked him if it's the one with extra chicken, unfortunately the woman didn't put it on my order even though I told her this TWICE. He didn't bother to correct the issue, he just pushed it towards me and kept it moving. It's almost as if being polite and respectful towards cashier's at this place doesn't mean anything if they're just going to end up treating you like garbage. If you're having a bad day or you hate your job take it up with your management and don't take it out on customers. Probably won't waste my time here again.

Sorry but the sushi and Mali rolls the sushi chef made is so ugly. Sushi is all about its presentation and its freshness. But this guy made it so ugly that it doesn't look pleasing to eat. The salmon is not cut into separate pieces but it's still sticking together. It still has colors stuck to it like the brown flesh. The maki rolls and not even sealed and the rode looks so mushy. He need more practice in his own kitchen before he comes out to make any sushi for people to eat.

I have been to various Sarku in different malls. But the food and attitude of the staff at the Galleria in East Cambridge are at the bottom of the barrel. The cashier is crabby, I asked her for a cup of water, she said no water. The food is the greasiest that I have ever seen. Tons of oil swimming at the bottom of the styrofoam container. Come to think of it, styrofoam containers have been banned in Ca for a while, but I guess not in Cambridge.
The grill is dirty and caked with black soot. That means the staff is not maintaining cleanliness and I don't recommend anyone eating their food.
I went over to the sushi kiosk for a cup of water and they gave it to me even I was not their customer.
